so you need to do Mods to a fridge that cost a shit ton of cash? I don't like the sound of that. for the price of the arb fridge, one would think it would perform right out the box. something smells fishy here.images_d1fad2939b13556982f5e7250ca90d4fb6818cbd.jpg

No there is no need to only lots of want. the truck works fine without mods. But correct me if I'm wrong those mods on the fridge seem like flaws in the design. overheating, bad cord, poor insulation. and cost more then the fridge in my kitchen. But i was just making jokes , don't get but hurt. I still would love a fridge but just don't have a big enough need for it to spend the money on it. I though it was funny that's all..

My truck not having a solid front axle is a flaw in the design :D

On the truck, I disagree, the stock suspension sucks no matter what. Just for basic pickup duty.:bananadead:

On the fridge, I somewhat agree.

First, got it on a group buy $100 off.:)

On the first really long trip with the fridge (12 days to Utah and back) in often hot conditions and in the back of our camper, we put it to the test with a very full load. Anything ARB you think, oh, well, it can sit in the middle of the outback with kangaroos beating the shit out of it and being hit by land trains for 6 months and keep your ice cubes solid for your bourbon.

But it is a fridge/freezer, and the freezer end of the spectrum can be a matter of just a few degrees difference in different areas inside, with obviously the lower big bin being coldest. So if you can keep the overall thing cooler, and the compressor running less frequently when using freezer mode, it can make a difference. Also, if it is sitting in my trailer all day while we are out in the truck romping trails, it is suckgin down the deep cylce battery int he trailer. It is very efficient with this, but after about 3 days of the trailer effectively going nowhere (and not being charged by a running truck) when we were in the Moab area, it did kick into powersaver mode (pulls less juice to save your battery).

I felt those long-haul conditions were a pretty good real-world shakedown of its capabilities, and think the minor, super cheap tweaks are a good idea. Should ARB make these improvements in their design? Yes.

    ...too much shit to list.
Each to their own. If I wanted a crawler, I'd build a crawler. This build (nor the last or any of my other builds) are crawlers. Yes I play in the rocks but it's never been the main point of any of my builds. Mine tend to be a little more of "do it all" builds with the least amount of sacrifice.
Some of us like IFS. There's something to be said about driving 300 road miles to a destination, do 200 dirt miles, and then 300 road miles home, all with the comfort of IFS suspension.

^^This. Everywhere I go involves some length of asphalt driving to get to the dirt part and then asphalt home. I would rather have the all around truck. I dont ever plan on trying to enter rock crawling competitions, but I do plan on going over some pretty daunting trails, so as long as it can go through what say the Needles has to offer (as an example) then I am good with it.
