I finally finished this damn thread! So much BS and a fair amount of info. So many questions that I can't even think of where to start.

Few things off the top of my head.

What bolts came out that destroyed your oil pan so that I can inspect them for torque?

Why do you measure suspension travel with the retainers off when your true travel is going to be limited by them? Wouldn't it make sense to measure the travel with them in place?

    Driver's side front diff arm.

That's what's called "metal to metal." Bump to strap is useable travel.
Also on hard rebounds, the unsprung weight will actually pull the springs down even with the retainers in place (essentially making the spring more U shaped). Measure and set your shock locations at metal to metal, and strap it shorter.

    Thanks.

When cycling your suspension, how do you personally decide the best location to mount your shocks? I want to go with the BAMF relocation kit with Dakars. Should be a decent setup for the mean time until I go to the next level. I don't see myself overheating a 2.0 anytime soon.

I have quoted all of your suspension links in my thread and I'm going to start reading through but I figure I'd ask too. Thanks again, learned a lot reading through your thread.

Ugh. Thanks for the reminder to check my front diff bolts. I haven't looked at those since installing the diff at camp in Moab, 2 years ago. @NYCO you should check yours too... I don't remember us having a torque wrench or loctite.

I have a tendency to over tighten bolts...but at some point it might be good to run down the truck and check everything

It's based on shock size, how much travel the springs and shackles allow for, angle of dangle, etc. There's a lot that goes into it and not really something I feel like typing out today.

Got it all buttoned up and drove around the neighborhood and I had a scary sound coming from the rear end. I though it was the third member.
Put it on stands again and threw it in drive and went to the back to listen. Scraping sounds coming from both drums. It took me 4 hours to get the fucking drums off using every trick in the book. On one side, both of the shoe retainers springs fucked off and were sitting in the bottom of the drum. The other side one of the shoes was bent and dragging on the drum.

Oh and one of the hard lines up front randomly decided it was time to start leaking and pissing fluid all over the frame. Cut that bastard off and re-flared it.

All that's done and buttoned up now. Truck actually feels brand new. Literally all of my vibrations are gone now. Needs some alignment love but that's easy.
