I can't wait till they start making Tacomas in Japan like the 4runner. I feel like the build quality would be a whole lot better than on the U.S. built ones.

The Hilux returned to Japan this year after an absence, although it's not made there anymore.

I just went back through an re-read all of the releases and came to the conclusion that the 2.7L no matter the configuration will not have a manual transmission. :annoyed::notsure: WTF:rant:

Highly doubt the plant makes a difference. My 16 T4R [made in Japan] is plagued with many of the same drive-train issues as the Tacoma. Basically, 10,000 parts from all over the world--branded a Toyota.

Toyota killed it. They are pushing everyone into TRD Limited and Pro.

Very soon a base model will run you $35K.

the SR model might only make up 15-25% of sales but there are defiantly people buying those low level trims... I think they might be pricing themselves out of their own market niche. IMHO

Hopefully, they will discontinue that mini-van rated 3.5 engine soon!:smash:

285/75/17 on SCS 6's. ADS front & rear w/ adjusters. Relentless front bumper & roof rack. BAMF sliders
That's pretty high. I talked to my dealer in northern California and for the same build (but manual), it was approx $36-$37k. Also, is that including tonneau cover and running boards? Because that seems to be a common add-on to the fully built models lately.

Don't you wish that evil upon us. I know for at least 2018 they are making the manual. I just hope it only gets better from here....
