Live in the rust belt and you will be changing rear rotors and pads often. It really comes down to the fact that there is no performance benifit to rear disc brakes on a Tacoma and advantages to drums brakes. If it works why change it? Saying it's "old technology" isnt a logical reason to go to discs. It's a fair statement to say truck buyer are not educated when buying their vehicles. Manufactures will do whatever the consumer thinks is better regardless if it has merit.

I did a Google Search for the 2018 Tacoma Product Information pdf file.

It shows a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder with a 6-speed manual in a 4x4 configuration on page 2. The first line on page 8 shows weight specs for an Access Cab with 4 cylinder with a manual transmission versus an automatic.

So, my guess is that for model year 2018 - the good news for those that want one, there will be an available 4 cylinder/6 speed manual combo available on the Access Cab.

Do you have a link for the pdf? I did a search on 2018 Tacoma Product Information and all that came up was page and page of 2017 info.

I have the Tacoma order guide from the dealer. There is no configuration with a M5 or M6 with the 2.7l. It's only available with the 6A.

OldandSlow's pdf download, in Post #87, from the Toyota website shows both 6A and 6M for the 2.7l :notsure:

Adjustable in the same sense as the 2016 and 2017s. ;)

Pull the handle under the seat and slide your bum ahead or back. Or pull the handle on the side and tilt you torso forward and back.

I see that but it also lists that the SR is still available but we know that is discontinued. The info also doesn't have a date. My order guide is dated Sept. 11th.

Can you post your copy of the order guide? The last we saw was from July. Located here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/attachments/2018-tacoma-specs-pdf.2292040/

That press release also shows on page 12 under standard mechanical features that the tow package is included for all v6 models. On page 13 it shows the tow package as optional for all models except Pro. Really bad proof reading going on over there right now. Not sure who signs off on what gets released but they really don’t appear to give a crap.

I haven’t read the whole thread. I was thinking of getting a 2018 next year, and so mad about how Toyota is going with the navigation... subscription. I wish they would add Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

    And no power seats still?!?

Dealer in NC has the 2018s on the lot already, but not on their website. Saw a bunch of cement off roads.

You’re right. I got my hands on one only because someone backed out last minute and my friend was the salesman. He told me if I didn’t pick it up that morning, his manager would approve the sale the following day to someone else!
