    05 prerunner
Hi I'm new and in the process of completing a deal with a coworker on his 05 4 door long box v6 prerunner with trd off road package and 140000k. It's in really good shape and he has maintained it very well tires are about 50%. Totally stock. I've checked all the online tools nada, kbb, all of them. But the prices are all over the place. I just want to know private party value that's realistic, on Craigslist there are people asking 15 grand for 200k 03 trucks? I know there worth good money and hold there value. Most of the sites value the truck around 9700. I was gonna offer 10 is this reasonable or insanely cheap I want it to be fair for both of us, I live in Tempe az if that makes a difference in price. Please any help on this would be great. I need to get it bought so I can start throwing long travel kits etc.. I can't wait to join the fun

A 10 year old vehicle is a 10 year old vehicle. Regardless of how it's been maintained, at that age it's lost a lot of value. Dealers wholesale anything much over 7 years of age.

    $15K for 200K miles '03 trucks???

Well to give you an idea last year I bought an 05 double cab SR5 4x4/auto with 122k on it for 15k from a dealer. Not a smoking deal but the truck was ridiculously clean. 3 years prior to that I bought another 05 double cab 4x4 almost identical with 112k but it was a TRD and in kind of rough shape needing front wheel bearings and a t-case switch, and a SERIOUS (belonged to a house painter who smoked cigars, it was rough) recon to make it 100%. I paid 12,800 for that one. Sold it with 142k on it 2 years later for 12k and it was tough to get even that much for it. Before I bought the truck I have now I looked at one nearly identical to mine with 82k on it but it smelled like wet dog and urine. I could have bought that one for 9k. Another that had a small dent in the side and smelled like an ashtray could have been had for 10. It all depends on condition. For a prerunner I would think somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-11 grand would be about right for a private sale.

    I'm no expert, but I wouldn't pay over 8k.

...I think if you have 10k to spend you might be able to find a better deal elsewhere.

To put things in perspective in 2009 I bought a 2007 Prerunner SR5 Double Cab short bed for 17k.

Expect wildly varying answers at this site.

The guy who has a truck just like yours will say his is worth 15k, but tell you to pay 9k for the one you want.

If you are happy with the deal go for it. If you aren't happy just walk.

He said it's an Offroad with a long bed, so I'd figure this out also.

I think NADA is a good site to get you in the ballpark.

Also said 4 door.. so I assume DC. But I suppose some consider ACs 4 doors also.
