So heres the truck in its first sad stages..
The first thing I bought for her was the bull bar..I know I know, not a lot of people out here particularly like them but eh, I did. So heres the bull bar and the 2" lift installed. Then I realized how goofy it looked with a lift and the little wheels and tires.
    DSCF0365.jpg

Then I finally bought some Nitto Terra Grapplers for the 18 " Enkei wheels that were on it, because at the time I didnt want to drop 1000 bucks for the black wheels I wanted. Oh and some crappy off brand fog lights added to the bull bar..
    IMG_0160.jpg

    IMG_2420.jpg

Next came a new stereo. I really like the stock look inside the truck so I didnt want to get some crazy aftermarket head unit. I went with a Pioneer 6.1.

    IMG_5989.jpg

    IMG_5990.jpg

Once my satoshi grill courtesy of HomerTaco was in production, I went ahead and threw some lights on a bar for behind the grill. Thanks to Klipp 11for the light mount write-up. Then I had to wait the agonizing 2 weeks for my grill to come in lol.

    IMG_6552.jpg

    IMG_6555.jpg

While waiting for my grill to come in I pulled the trigger on new wheels, which meant new tires as well. So I got 17" black Pacers and I went ahead and got the same Nitto Terra Grapplers to go with them.

    IMG_6170.jpg

Next was the Toyota roof rack and tail light gaurds, then trip back home to New Mexico to do some trail riding.

    IMG_6349.jpg

    IMG_6350.jpg

    Then finally my grill!!

    IMG_7284.jpg

This was pretty much how the truck sat for almost 2 years before I actually started doing trail runs.

    IMG_7278.jpg

Until the wife and I took on the Trans America Trail..thats when I got a hold of some sliders, bed rack, Rotopax tank, Tepui RTT, some lighting wired up to a dual battery setup and a hi lift, a CB..

    Nice rig...
I see you have Maxx Traxx on your wish list. I bought two awhile back and ever since then I can't find them anywhere. The two I have worked great but just in case I do want two more.

The tire mount was an idea the wife and I came up with. We used some steel tubing, and attached it to the OEM rails with homemade clamps. The clamps are similar to the way roof top tents are mounted to rails.

On the RotoPAX, It doesn't look like you used the universal plate, any reason? Seems it would be nice to have that against the back of the bed.

You used 1 4gal instead of two 2gal, any reason?

    Thanks...

So for the Rotopax mounts... The folks at Rotopax actually gave me the Toyota mounts for free for being active duty. But no real reason I chose the 4 over the 2 gallons..

The Rough Country kit is pretty awesome..I know a bunch of folks don't care for them..But it rides great.

Right on, good to hear. I sold my Jeep to buy my Tacoma, in the Jeep world it was exactly that, ROUGH!

I have noticed looking into these rigs the lift game is completely different

Lots for me to learn still before I make my purchase.
