been reading around cause I'm thinking about putting my overload back in with my icon AAL cause it sags too much with any weight. I've seen a post that Wheelers recommends that the overload needs to be cut down so it doesn't overlap the short spring on the add a leaf. The reason being that the longer leafs can contact the end of the overload at a sharp angle when it flexes it can cause them to break. Has anyone done this or am I supposed to leave it alone?

I was told the same thing. I don't have the overload in mine but some members here do. The idea was to cut the overload down to the same length or a little shorter than the shortest leaf in the ALL pack. That way the short piece will act as a half inch lift block.

So people usually put the overloads back it to gain load carrying ability, I'm confused on how can that be accomplished if the overloads are cut?

How much weight are you putting in the back? I have 5100s on the 3rd setting in the front and a fiberglass cap and I was going to order a 3 leaf AAL but I don't want to waste my money if the cap is too heavy for the progressive AAL.

You dont have yo cut the overload leaf to make it fit. You have to cut off the clamp on the overload in order for it to fit without hitting anything. I just grinded off the bolt holding the clamp and the clamp came off. I have the icon AAL with the over load left in and I love it . Gives it that stock rake. On the picture I included you can see where the old clamp was held on and was not allowing the new clamp to sit flush.
