    Couldn't find a straight answer...

When adding a progressive AAL (3 leaf pack like Icons) can you expect to see your max droop change at all?

This is assuming you also have longer rear shocks (like Bilstein 5160s that are 1 inch longer extended length vs stock).

Usually the limit In travel is the shock on many setups. Dakar’s can get up to 12” but most have 8” OEM setups. I would assume you should get some but your leaf setup may already provide ample. It up and see how much droop you have.

Stock leafs are the limiting factor here. These are Bilstein 5160s, driver side. [IMG] [IMG]

Pass side had about 1/2 more droop than this with no bolt in the lower shock eye.

I guess I should point out this was not with both rear tires completely off the ground. Its a simulated flex in this position.

I don’t think it should change. And if it does, it would slightly increase travel based on the idea that it arcs the spring more. But idk. I have one but ive never measured the travel in the rear. The shock is what limits the travel though.

Yeah, stock shocks will limit droop.

Would like to know if I can gain any droop
going with the 3 leaf AAL while running these longer shocks. Anyone?

I have aftermarket shocks for up to 1.5” of lift but I still think the shock is what tops out first before the pack. The axle seems like it has a lot of droop. But again, I never measured it so idk. My shocks have 11.75” of travel so the axle could be what stops the droop

like I had said, I think the pack will allow you to gain some travel, if I am thinking of it in the right way. If your curent shocks are what limit your travel than longer ones are the way to go

1” is moot however, AAL don’t typically offer more droop. To maximize leaf pack flexibility you need to perform a shock relocation which would allow you to fit 12-14” shocks where most aftermarket leaf packs max out, and look to installing a full pack.

Yeah I figured the AAL wasn't going to change things much. I suppose I should just use the $200 towards a full leaf pack instead of starting with an AAL for now.

You’re half way there almost (All Pro 10 leaf leaf pack (standard not heavy dusty) is $500 I believe?)

I remember reading alot of folks having issues with squeaking on either Dakars or Deavers... can someone tell me which to avoid? (I know they are all probably gonna squeak at some point)

I was gonna say, they will ALL squeak man. Spray your pack with fluid film, boeshield T9 or any other anti rust lube and they will not only be protected from rust But the squeaking will be limited

I never hear about All Pro. I know they used to be well known and something smashed their reputation i think. Are their products still good?

Edit: All Pro are very poor quality leaf packs according to Archive Garage.

I agree that at some point they all squeak. However Dakars are notorious for it. My Deavers are super quiet but I dissembled them and used a multi-purpose grease around the center bolt and pads.

How long has the grease held up? Just curious.
