    Hey all!

I now have a 2021 Tacoma and I see there is only 1 USB port that allows media\Android Auto.
    (unless I am wrong)

Is there a way to add an additional USB media port?
Is there a USB splitter that would actually support both at the same time?

End goal is to utilize both my USB stored music source and use Android Auto at the same time, as I have with other vehicles.
My USB for music contains a large amount of media, so adding it all to my phone would not be desirable and simply just not possible.

there are hardware usb splitters to physically select between 2 different usb devices at different times, but a usb splitter allowing multiple usb connections requires software to interface with the splitter, which i don't believe any oem head unit supports.

so you're just SOL unfortunately, at least without changing the head unit, which is fortunately still possible in these trucks.

vehicle designs generally take about 10 years to implement, which routinely puts the radio hardware about 5-10 years behind the current times, so it's a never-ending game of catchup!

You could try plugging in a USB hub to the existing data port to see what happens. That should tell you if the head unit supports multiple USB devices concurrently.

It may be worth uploading your files to YouTube music. I believe you can stream them even without a paid subscription.

Let us know if it work or not. I’m been looking for something similar as well.

it would take a massive amount of digging, but i believe there was once a few threads like this. i recall running across one on a lexus forum once in an unrelated search about 8-ish years ago.

it was a big list of hubs that don't work, might work, sometimes work, and work depending on HU OS version. iirc, there were 1-2 obscure brands that worked, and about a thousand that didn't or limited functionality...

It's a 512 gb stick that almost full.
That's why I don't it all on my phone, but also not sure if YouTube would allow all of it.
    Good suggestion though.
    Thanks.

    I can beleive it.
I guess I just got lucky in my last ride.
Just assumed this newer vehicle would be the same, if not better.
    Oops.

YouTube Music allows for up to 100,000 files to be uploaded, not sure how many files you have but still may be an option.

I saw that one, but I can't find it available anywhere.
After posting this thread, I see a lot of splitters explicitly saying they don't work with Android Auto or Apple Car Play.
    It's a bummer.

And my lowly 2017 lacks either so I can't even test it to see.
