    Real simple question perhaps .

Is the vacuum operated actuator in a 99 front axle the same physical size as newer(2004) Electric Actuator ?

That it would bolt right in to the older axle. The design of the newer axle completely different ?

I don`t have the electric one in hand to compare .

That is all I need to know the rest I can work around

Another Gratis project for my neighbor Prerunner 4x4 conversion the seller has given up on after sourcing parts from many different unknown years.

Another reason to get a complete Donor Vehicle.

Are you talking about swapping all of #2?

I do Not need any Parts

I just need to know the physical differences between the vacuum and the electrical ADD actuators.

Can they be switched just the actuator or does the whole differential assembly need changed?

I have a front ADD differential out of a 1999 Tacoma the vacuum operated actuator was smashed .

Will the Electric ADD be a bolt on Option to the 1999 differential??

It's less Tacoma and more mod
They bolt in place of one another I believe. I have a vacuum actuator assembly on the bench at home right now, I will take a picture of the mounting side for you later if you'd like

    Thank you Sir!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That is all I needed to know the rest I can figure out.

No picture needed I have the Broken Vacuum one but no electric close at hand .

Okay, I asked because I'm pretty sure the entirety of #2 is swappable (I've read of people swapping out actuators for manual tubes) but I'm not sure if you can mix the sub-components of #2 between vacuum and electric.

I think I have an electric actuator/tube assembly at home. I can grab measurements of pics later if they'll help.

That would be a big help!

Very low budget project being paid for by my 15 year old neighbor Milking Cows to buy parts .

A few days late I got around to checking this and realized... I think the actuator I have is actually vacuum?

I assumed that the electrical connector meant electronic ADD and the two tubes were just breathers, but now I'm thinking they're vacuum lines.

Yep, that is a vac actuator. I believe I have an e-actuator as well as the vac. I'll check for it tomorrow. Need to pull down a box of leftover mixed up stuff from the conversion to check. More to follow.

When you get around to it. I would love to know just for myself

Project is on a hold .

It seems the #1 son said or did something dumb . The fact he was able to still move and did not appear to have any major injuries is a good thing.
