You can add an indoor/outdoor thermometer with clock to your area for an overhead compass/temp for only $12.99 incl S&H.The overhead compass/temp costs in excess of $200.00 if you buy the Toyota part. You can purchase an Oregon Scientific NAW 881 indoor/outdoor thermometer with clock sold by Galactiles & fulfilled by Amazon.com.This item comes with a 12 ft. wired sensor probe and includes a AAA battery. The entire installation process will take approximately 30 minutes. All you have to do is tape or velcro the approx. 2 1/2"x3" unit inside the overhead compass/temp compartment and run the sensor probe to the engine compartment. From the engine compartment you run the sensor probe to the wheel well away from any engine heat source. Finally you tape or use cable ties to secure the probe and the 12 ft. wire.To check the outside temperature you can now just open the small door opening for the overhead compass/temp compartment.
