I own a 99 Tacoma 2WD and would like to add a keyless entry alarm system but my truck isn't capable for installing one. What can I do and how can I do it?

There isn't one in my location. And I think I need a motor to attach in the panels.

If you don't have power door locks you will have to have actuators installed.

I work in a audio/customization shop. and as was said earlier, if your truck has manual locks you will have to have actuators installed. but the actuators are not to expensive and here in south Carolina we charge $150 for basic keyless, and I think like $225 for alarm with shock sensor and alarm hooked to the door triggers, still overall think you should be able to have tis done for under $500,
I have an encore 2way with remote start on mine, I would highly suggest going wit a good brand of alarm/keyless (ie; avital, python, encore, viper) hope this helps

Get a DEI (Directed Electronics Inc.) Alarm. This includes brands like Clifford, Viper, and Hornet...all very good alarm systems. If you're good with Electronics, you can install the alarm yourself. You can find a schematic online or you can go to AudioVox to get a schematic for your particular Tacoma.

For the manual door locks, you will need to install an actuator on each door. You can get an actuator for 15 bucks on ebay. A good DEI alarm will run you around 60-100 bucks. Once you install actuators, you can tap into it and run a seperate relay, then to a rocker switch. The rocker switch will give you ability to lock/unlock doors with a switch. You can mount the switch next to the cutlet near the gauge brightness knob.

I have an older model Hornet 740T thats about 10 years old that I pulled the brain out of my old honda and still works perfect to this day. Actuators are 15 dollar ebay specials that still work as well. I configured it so that the siren output goes to my horn.

When you install your actuators, make sure you cut off half of the plastic housing around the door lock knob or your actuators wont fit.

Any vehicle can have alarms installed in them. Its just a matter of what wires to 'tap' into. Word of caution: dont tap into anything airbag or your airbag light will stay lit!

I had a clifford 10.5 remote start on my frontier... turn on the heat when you park for the night and hit the remote start when you get up for work. By the time you get in the car on a cold winter morning it is already hot and toasty. I also had a steelmate (china brand) alarm and that thing sucked ass. dont go cheap. While on this topic I was taking my door panel off the other day I noticed actuators already installed. Looks like there was an alarm installed previously but the wires were left dangling by the speaker. I actually might luck out if the alarm module is still installed. hopefully I can just buy a remote and get it going again or install another clifford and save on the actuator install.

Thanks for the responses guys, I've been shopping around looking for actuators and systems and I found some cheap but good ones. I'm going to start calling shops to see if they could help me install these things. I would do it myself but if I mess something up then I'll be pissed.

add a relay to the actuator/power door lock, and you will be able to control the lock/unlock function from the inside via rocker switch.
