Guess it was my turn...I wouldn't call it wrecked, but it aint right.

Hey can I complain how I hate my Tacoma now, it didn't accelerate fast enough, didn't have the other vehicle bounce off me.

So any ways, I was making a left turn in the middle of a busy intersection (there was a green light to go straight, from what I can gather I had a red turn arrow), there was no oncoming traffic when I started my turn, then out of nowhere a minivan slammed into front passenger corner (I am pretty sure she was speeding trying to get through the light). She was continued to say she had a green light.

The minivan, still not sure if the hood damage was from this or not.

I drove it home (limped), the steering is about an hour or two ahead, what was 12 o'clock is more like 1:30-2.

Well that's a sucky way to start the weekend. If steering is tweaked it's definitely more than a bumper.

Dashcam? Even if she had a green light, generally whomever has the last chance to avoid a crash bears responsibility. i.e. if you were turning and had reason to think you had tons of room, but she was speeding and not paying attention enough to slow down and avoid hitting you, then she'd get the fault despite having a green.

You mention a red turn-arrow signal though? What's Maine law on that?

The investment in a good 2-channel front/rear system doesn't sting for long.

Mine does 1080p front and rear, and here's a quick picture-in-picture sample I created in iMovie merging the separate video files.

Ya, it pisses me off, as I was going to pull a U turn just before, but was trying to be good. In Maine you can make a right on red, unless marked. But left, not sure it's anything but only turn on green.

I have been using my cam, but took it out the day before as I was out screwing around in the snow and wanted to get the vids from it. This also frustrates me, as I was all over the road, doing/trying to do donuts in the middle of intersections, drifting corners, you know all the fun shit and no issues at all. Next day driving "responsible" and SMACK.

I am hoping the insurance company pushes to see the traffic cams, as I feel like the Police officer didn't give a rats ass. Just took statements and info, no one hurt, move on kind of thing. I told him that she came out of now where and had to be speeding. He didn't even acknowledge the statement. She just kept saying that she was with other traffic, which is false, there was no one else coming from either of the two lanes she was coming from. But oh well.

    Ya it does.

Thanks, and yea its only metal and plastic, honestly it's the uped insurance cost that I am most upset about. Due to stupid crap, it already jumped a ton due to the past year.

I bought a dashcam last year for reasons like that. Do consider one for your next purchase.... it's money well spent.

Another way to put it is that crumple zones extend the deceleration time, they slow down the rate at which the occupants go from 35mph to zero mph. What causes injury isn't so much the absolute speed as it is the rate-of-change, or how quickly your body slows to a stop. As a practical example consider doing a canon ball off of a dock into water vs. the same canon ball onto concrete. You decelerate much faster when hitting concrete than hitting water. In neither case do you end up going very fast, but we know which will hurt more.
