would it be possible to wire in a switch to bypass the tailgate lock? i typically load stuff in the bed and inevitably try to open the tailgate when I don't have the fob. would be nice to have the option to keep it unlocked with the cab locked.

Unless you have a way to keep lurkers from watching how you access the added outdoor switch, I won't even contemplate that idea. But it is a simple thing though.

Idea could also be used to prevent tailgate unlock while all doors are unlocked.:burp:

I was thinking in-cab bypass, not visible to everyone. I live in a rural area and am not too concerned with tailgate theft.

My post would work for your needs: battery (source) not ignition, fuse- momentary switch to 29 pin on AQ1.
Kinda can't visualize the access to switch while doors are locked though.

SPDT switch, On side to maintain OEM function, (ON) Momentary to actuated tailgate unlock. And also an OFF feature.

And luxury cars have had the automatic leveling headlights along with side to side based on steering for decades. Toyota should have automatic leveling as standard by now.
