Had a 2014 Ram 2500 that I didn't use much so I went and traded it for a new Tundra today. Man this thing has alot of bells and whistles on it. Take me 6 months to figure it all out. Got the Hybrid V6 twin turbo 437hp in the Capstone model. Seems to go pretty good. Still think I like the Tacoma better for running around.

Cap stone is balling out of control as far as Toyotas go.

I hate the towing mirrors on the high trim levels, but love how the new tundras drive.

I just wanna know how it tows 8k lbs.

My 5.7 rocks for towing. I'm still skeptical of 3.4. I hope to be proven wrong.

You traded in a full size that you hardly used for another full size? Wish I had your wealth.

You bought a Capstone as an impulse buy?

I could see doing that with a F-250 Tremor, or a Silverado LT Z71 Alaskan package.

    Congratulations on the Tundra.

I pull a 10 x 6 trailer to gunshows. Had a fifth wheel for camping and downsized to much smaller. Tundra and Tacoma are two complete different toys. Gunshow trips will be much more relaxed in a fullsize than a six speed midsize. Saved my money to have nice toys. Old and retired has it's up side.

    LOLOLOL!

That would be a great thread...if you had the money to buy another vehicle, what would it be?

I don't know that I would want 2 trucks--I'm happy with the one I got.

My choice would be a "Sports Sedan" like an Audi A4/S4.

I’ve seen a few new Tundras in my area that are nice. Today, a solid black TSS with little red decals, calipers, red leather seats, etc. Solid black hides that ugly front nicely.

There are a lot of ugly 2023 Tundras on the road, too. Choose wisely.

    Oh. Ok . Gottcha.
Ya it's nice to be retired and to be able to pay off debts and have a few toys while you can still enjoy them. Besides my Taco I have a shiny red Vette. I think some of my kids think I'm spending it all, but I'm making sure they'll be fine.

It sucks that we have to be older in life...but at least, we are blessed with age.

Yes, the adult children don't understand our spending habits...and that's OK. As long as they are taken care of after we depart this world, we will feel better for it.

I see a lot EB firds dragging 5th wheels. I know my 5.7 has zero issues pulling mine thru the Tennessee and Carolina mountains. 750 miles from Michigan.

    You mean like this?

"On average, turbos on 3.5 EcoBoost engines tend to last for between 80,000 and 100,000 miles before needing to be replaced.

While this may not seem like a very long lifespan, it is quite impressive when compared to turbos on other types of vehicles with similar engines"

So why do diesels last so long? They're all turbo charged.
