Added an SR grille on my Inferno Off Road

I have seen the SR5 grille used but not the SR grille. I found one on eBay that had a damaged surround and decided to take a chance and bought it. Swapped the inside grille into my Inferno surround. I kind of like it. I had a TRD emblem laying around I had bought a couple of years ago and it fit perfect, so I decided to install it.

I got it off of eBay from a dealer who sells a lot of SR grilles. It looks like they had sold this one and it got damaged in shipping originally and was returned to them (white surround). I picked it up for around $240 shipped knowing the surround was damaged, but that didn't really matter since I was going to use mine anyhow. I swapped the inside grille out of the white surround. It was the cheapest way of swapping grilles that I could find.

 

A lot of people like to bitch about the grill. I didn't think the stock one in the OR and sports are that bad, but I must say that does look better.

I don't think chrome should be on an off-road packages

I never understood why the top of the line Limited and middle of the road SR5 package got the same grill. I would have thought the gawdy, blinged-out gangsta grille of the Sport and OR would go on the Limited.

I just picked mine OR this weekend and stopped by the dealer today to order this grille but wanted to find the part # of the SR model so I knew they were ordering the correct one. Would you mind posting a link to the dealer selling them on eBay?

Thanks. No, I used the SR bezel. The SR grille is black and comes with a black bezel. The SR5 grille is a dark charcoal grille with a chrome surround. I wanted the SR5 grille, but this was the best bang for the buck IMO.

is that a stick on trd emblem or what grill screw on?

 

It's a two stud mount emblem. Comes with two rectangular washers and nuts - worked perfect on this grille.

The black grille doesn't match the rest of the black Panels?

 

The grille is solid black and the trim is dark charcoal grey. I originally was going to go with the SR5 grille but honestly, I think it looks good. I won't be changing it.

 

I don't like the black grilles on the other trucks I've seen. But it looks perfect on that inferno. Nice truck

 

Thanks. I wasn't a big fan of it either but figured it was better than the stock chrome grille. It will hold me over until a good aftermarket solution comes out or a TRD Pro grille is released.
