Just added some lighting for under the hood. Was pretty simple and didn’t cost much. I don’t tinker around under the hood, but when I do, I’m always annoyed there’s no light. Out there wearing a headlamp. Haha. Fixed now!!!372B9FE6-067F-4876-981F-82F4C2FA5176.jpgE3F97E5F-FA17-4456-B3A0-26666D38086E.jpgB7FADD47-1F4A-47C8-9A95-752EBC4D30AA.jpgEA48DDB5-8B4F-4AC3-B10F-8D748A3A780E.jpg559C3312-963A-450B-8613-9C7C71804168.jpg3508A34A-4803-4C78-84BF-09BE2C863098.jpg

Hahaha. You’re wrong though...I mainly plan on cooking chicken under the immense lighting.

Did you have to drill into the hood for this?

I drilled a small hole to feed the wire into a channel (it’s the hole with silicone in the picture). The rest of the holes were already there. Where I drilled us double layered with a huge gap between the two layers. No real chance at accidentally drilling through both.

You could do it by just zip tying the wire if you wanted to.

    Nice!
I did the same. mine face towards the engine and are mounted to the radiator cover. I have a pin switch that automatically turns them on when I open the hood. They are placed exactly opposite of my raptor lights so it looks like the light comes from them:)30F202A7-EF57-4EEB-ABFD-D90586F5D455.jpg374CED9B-D1C0-4422-8233-EDFF8720D1FB.jpg

Yup! Will rarely, if ever, use them; but they’re there if I need them! Better than holding a cell phone! Haha

Yeah, I’ve done the same when replacing an oil sensor in my daughters Dart (behind the engine with like 3” of working space). But, if I don’t have to hold a phone or flashlight while poking and prodding it’s much simpler. :)

@mattgecko has some pretty sweet kits for both under hood lights and bed lights. I’d definitely recommend his kits. His under hood lights use two strips and a water proof switch.

It has 3M tape on the back of it. Just clean the area you’re sticking it to first

Still works great! I’ve only had to use it a handful of times but I used it about a week ago and it still works like brand new. Lights up the entire engine bay.
