So I finally got my TC UCA's installed and my alignment numbers after are fantastic. but now when I am slowing down quickly from a high speed and if i cut the wheel to turn left hard it rubs at the cab mount area where most people do the chop, kinda weird thats happening now with the new UCA's but didnt happen with the stock ones. None the less maybe my OME suspension has settled some I dunno, looks like I need to do the chop which i was planning on doing anyways as I want bigger tires down the road with a mid travel. unnamed.jpg

What are your numbers at i.e. Castor ,, hub to fender ,,tire size,,,I have 275/70/17 and at 22.5 I had rubbing when reversing cranked hard or at a higher speed turning hard going over a driveway entrance for example,, ,, took back to alignment shop and asked for more castor around 2.2 and it went away :)

castor is at like 3.0 or just under that like 2.8/.9 so I dont want to get anymore castor as it will affect my ride. toe and camber are at 0. and i have 285/70/r17 at 23 hub to fender in front rear at 23.5.

I need to get the cab mount chop regardless so that will be the route I take I think just wondered if this was normal or not?

UCAs move the top of the spindle back to increase castor. More rubbing in the cab mount and firewall is the trade off.

Spacers will make it worse. Start cutting stuff off until it stops rubbing. Proper way to do it involves cycling the suspension.

is $250 too much to pay to have both sides the CMC done? cut, welding of new plates and then painted black?

Yes. Shouldn't cost that much. Also, what you have cicrcled in red is not the cab mount. That's just plastic, go cut it off.

shit man that isn't even the cab mount, get out a razor and once you take that bolt out start cutting away the fender plastic and see what happens, this is how mine looks after the razor. I'm running 295/70/17 you can see i also have the CMC done. $250 is WAY to much for that work!!! you can get it into the $140 range from multiple shops, or buy the plates and have a welder buddy tackle it for ya!!

just don't slip with the razor and screw up the outside of your new fenders :D cut towards the outside and then start shaving it down to the ground and cutting in towards the cab as your going to the bottom of the fender, easy as pie!!

I assume any utility blade razor would be sharp enough to do this?
