I thank you for the feed-back/info. It's all relative. Good luck w/your CO hunts. Big season for that here in north NM, many elk and many elk hunters

    Northern New Mexico!
I’m planning a trip there in 3 weeks to escape the smoke in Northern Ca.
I was going to Oregon but that’s not working out.

No problem. Bring some warm clothes, maybe some orange. I'm gonna pick up one of those bright reflective vests to keep in my truck kit. You planning on around Taos area?

I think so. I believe the guy I’m going with has friends that live in or near Taos.

I’m pretty excited. I’ve driven through NM a few times with stops at White Sands missle range, Carlsbad caverns and Albuquerque.
So, I haven’t seen much. Looking forward to seeing more.

Right on, northern NM is nice. And if it gets cold you can just go south some, though at night it can be cold in the south as well. I'm from Taos and live north of there on the NM/CO border. Right now bow hunters are lurking around my house in the adjacent ag. fields. If you guys need any tips on the area, lemme know, though it sounds like you got a handle on it. I like Albuq., and Carlsbad, never been to White Sands. Some good rockhounding down there. That's what I'm primarily doing in my truck, mineral exploration

its all depends, I have DV8 hybrid bumper its about 200lb. I have not decreased mpg. Till I add pro exhaust. (Intake already install before the bumper).
