I’m fixing to put a camper top and roof rack to my truck. I have the light dakars And was wondering if anyone has added the OME leaf to it. If so did it come with new u-bolts or did the original u-bolts that come with Dakar’s work. And how was the ride after you added the leaf?. Thanks

Sounds like a new question to everyone- try talking with the folks at Headstrong off-road about it, they can answer your question. I put a single leaf on my factory pack and love it - tow 4000 lbs and load up with gear with it just fine.

I'll be running a Four Wheel Camper at times on my Tacoma, but want the ride quality of the standard springs when the camper isn't installed. I'm going to install Airbags and Daystar cradles for use when the camper is on the truck...should be the best of both worlds.

Lots of info on towing- I skipped airbags as they limit your extension being they are bolted top and bottom, I love the way my single leaf works and rides with my trailer, and without a load. But it sounds like you may have a lot of constant weight and would benefit by adding a whole leaf pack as airbags do not strengthen your existing springs.

Had a bad experience with daystars and rite right air bags. You loose almost two inches of up travel and the airbags have no bump stops. I recommend just buying a set of springs and dealing with the ride when the camper is off. At least u won’t be bottoming out on the air bag mounts all the time or running really high psi to stop the bottoming out.

when installing the hd leaf you will likely need to replace the u-bolts and the centering bolt. I bought a set of bp-51s with the hd leaf and needed to replace the bolts as they weren't long enough
