Most of that stuff, pretty much lives back there. I way love the camper shell. Would advise windoors even if the are an extra $450 per.

I had a soft fold tri cover that was great. Worked well, was cheaper. I much prefer the camper shell.

    Workin' on it....
Based on your options - Sienna for what you need. Third option - 4 Runner would be my vote.

Don’t kid yourself and get the minivan. I feel sorry for my kids when they fall asleep in the Tacoma. I have the narrow car seats and there’s no room for the seats to recline.
Our sienna and odyssey have soooo much room for the kids.

Get the SE sienna they look cool

Get a 4Runner best of both worlds. We have one and car seat is not a problem.

Welcome ! I have a DCLB Tacoma and my girlfriend has a 2014 Rav4, honestly I like driving the Rav more than my truck and it has a ton of room in the cargo area and the back seats have a lot more room than my truck. Also reasonably good on fuel for an AWD and has real good ground clearance, we live on a clay road and her car was always bottoming out and getting stuck, almost always 8.6 L/100km mostly just jigging around town and 18km commute to work. My brother also just bought a Sienna and loves it. I just can't imagine owning 2 3rd gens.

I agree with you, I'd go for a larger sedan or a wagon. It narrows your choices but they both can be found in manual transmissions.

Can Rav4's be bought in a Manual stateside? I'm pretty sure they can't in Canada. There are a lot of Subarus still available in an MT which might be another good option for you @tacaMama !

New Camry, not Accord, if you go sedan. Sienna for the most practical.

The Accord can be had with a Manual which was probably why it was suggested.

I personally wouldn't get two of the same thing. It's like a tool box with only phillips screwdrivers.

True. No sense having more than one. We have my DCSB SR5 and the our 3 toddlers think its cool but the fight all the time with their seats in a row. So we mostly drive my wife's Pilot. She thought vans were uncool till we rented one on a road trip she fell in love with it and has wanted one ever since. Once our trusted Pilot gives out were gonna look for a used Sienna.

I was kind of in the same situation as you as I use two carseats for my grandchildren (4&6) in the rear seating area of my '18 Sport SBDC and it's doable but tight for driver and front passenger as the front seats have to moved up quite a bit to allow ample leg room for the kids. I carry the kids only about 40% of my total driving time. I expect it would be much more for you since you are a parent. Also, I have the OEM bed cover and it's water resistant however not completely water tight, so I use a water tight heavy plastic tool box for bed storage and it works well.

I also have a '96 Taco 4x4 manual and strongly considered a manual when purchasing my 2018, however got the auto and am glad I did. So to answer your question, it's doable however certainly not the best option for your situation. Of your choices I would go with the Sienna, however I would choose a Highlander or 4-Runner if were me. Hope this helps.

Notice only a little water leakage (on left) after a 5-6 hour hard rain.

I fit my two kids seats in my truck, they are 4 and 5. But I would never make it the primary vehicle for our family, especially if you plan to have 3 kids. You already have one, so why not get something more suited for a family. Lots of options in SUV and Minivan market. I wouldnt go Accord, Camry or any sedan for that matter.
