I just installed the PL5300. Tailgate lock. It did require moving camera. Installation was very simple. Hardest part was getting the video cable connector to unclip. You do have to careful with gasket from original handle. I need to use a small pick to enlarge some of the small holes in the gasket. My video view is in my rear view mirror and I didn't notice any significant grid changes. I also have a universal tailgate lock which can be purchased on EBay from Zone 47 for around 18 dollars. Easy to install and it will definitely make it more difficult to get my tail gate off.

I have a 2013 Tacoma prerunner with the camera. Did you ever determine if there is a lock that can be added?

I have the powered one and it did fail b/c the driver side front door actuator is going bad. After an hour of jiggling the handle and playing with the connections in the kick panel it finally unlocked. I have it disconnected right now. It was very stressful start to a vacation with all the luggage stuck in there.

    No Mods, more of add-ons.
It's not that the grid is "accurate" in the first place. Remember you are moving the camera over about 2.5" to the left. You won't even notice a difference.
