First of all I have to say I love this forum. I have been a member of TTORA since probably 2004 and just recently came across this one. It's so nice to see an active forum that there is good tech, people aren't a-holes, and the local chapter has trips planned.

Also I do have to admit that I don't personally own a Tacoma. It's a '93 4Runner but it has an '04 5VZ w/ the charger so I hope that makes things ok.

Sorry for the delay, here's my question. My brother has an '02 DC that we installed the OME lift from wheelers last summer. He runs a canopy full time and we both think the rear could be higher so we ordered a set of the AAL's wheeler's sells for the Dakars.

I'm planning on installing these on Thursday. My question is where on the leaf pack do I put these? Is it at the bottom like many others I have seen, or do I need to fit them in somewhere in the pack?

Sorry about the long post. Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you buy the Wheeler's AAL or the Dakar AAL designed for the Dakar pack?

If you ordered the D6XL AAL for Dakars, then it will be the 3rd leaf down from the top.

Easy way to know where to put any AAL in the pack is: The AAL will always go under a leaf that is longer and above a leaf that is shorter.

It is the D6XL that he ordered I believe.

Great info, just what I needed. Thanks!

Ok AAL's are here. Gonna install tomorrow. I can't tell because the bump stops are in the way but are the bolts that hold the OME leafs together generally long enough to ad a leaf to the pack?

    Thanks!

    Yes.

You will probably have to drill out the center hole on the AAL though. For some reason OME didn't make the diameter of the hole large enough for their own center pin to slide through. Crazy, I know.

    Wow! Fast reply!

I will be prepared to drill out if needed. Thank you!

Got them installed this morning. His were actually the D43xl. I verified that they were the correct ones for his spring pack. No drilling needed for the center holes.

Measured before and after and gained 3.5"s! Wow. I'm thinking they will settle but as of right now it looks pretty nice.

    Thanks again for the help.
