If I have an amp in my rig alread but want to add another for say, a sub, do I have to use distribution blocks to power and ground them both? Or can I run a all new wire kit? So I would have 2 power cables and 2 grounds?

either will be fine. If you decide to do a distribution block, make sure the existing power and ground wires will carry enough current for both amps.

IMO, the easier route would be distribution blocks if your power and ground wires can handle the current. You wouldn't have to take any panels apart and it would likely be cheaper too.
