So i've poked around a little bit, and haven't really found much. Has anyone tried to splice in or add additional video to your head unit? I have the OEM backup camera that works great, but was toying around with adding another camera in the front, or maybe more (I know i'll need a video distribution block) just for a custom, one off kinda thing.

Just curious if anyone's done it.

I am using one of theses, http://www.icarkits.com/cars/TOYOTA_TACOMA_2013/V8VIMTY05 , not only does it give you an extra audio/video connection, via an added app under the source selection, it also allows you to use the blocked out functions on the OEM head unit while you are moving...says it works with 2012-2015 tacomas...I plan on mounting a front camera the fits inside the bottom of the toyota logo, if it ever gets here...otherwise seems to function very well.

How was the install of the kit? Also did the nav work? I have a 2013 w/o nav in the head unit, not sure if that would work for me. Also would need a gps antenna and module im sure.

Mine was plug and play except 3 wires...my stereo didnt have a 10 pin plug so I had to cut 3 wires, per the instructions, and hook them up myself, one for 12v acc, one for 12v constant and a ground....I am able to use all the blocked out functions of the stereo including nav.
