Two weeks in and Im on my lighting mods. I'm planning to add aux lights for reverse, possibly bed rails eventually. For anyone that has done this, any tips on wiring? I was hoping to splice into the ac outlet wiring, unless there isn't heavy 12v wiring to it. Trying to avoid running wiring the entire length of the truck.

For example, if there is 12v wiring able to handle basic fog lamps I would wire up with a relay to come on with reverse. Thanks in advance!

Depends on the lights you choose of course but the Rigid Ignite series of lights can be wired directly to the tails or trailer plug.

I did 2 rigid ignites, and just wired them parallel into the tail lights back up lights, they only come on when backing up. I'm happy with them, they're pretty bright, difficult for someone to not see that you're backing up.

They are awesome. I paid $95 for two and they are crazy bright, small, and easy to install.

I did overkill and added a relay because I wanted to use a switch in addition to a reverse light trigger for camping but the wiring could be super simple if you just want extra reverse lights without a switch. You could just tap the tail lights or trailer harness. No relay or connection to battery needed.

That sounds a hell of a lot easier than the idea I had with cheapo fog lights, and the pics you have in your thread really got me thinking about led.

Did you run the frame rail to the cab for your switch?
Can you explain why you used a diode in your setup?

Not overkill... Wiring projects are fun

Just from a few posts and pics I'll probably go this route, love that flush mount.

My idea was I needed that extra reverse light backing into my small garage.. Tight turn, and bunch of crap in the way.. But I'm glad my new truck fits!

I have a wiring schematic in that write-up. I ran from the battery to a relay in the engine bay, from the relay to the cab for the switch, and from the relay down the length of the truck to the lights. You can see photos in the rock lights section of my write-up.

I used a diode so that the stock reverse lights turn on my Rigid lights and so that my switch in the cab turns on the Rigid lights but not the stock reverse lights.
Stock reverse lights —> Rigid lights
Switch / Rigid lights -/-> Stock reverse lights

If you just want extra reverse light, no diode or switch is needed. Just tap the positive and negative of the Rigid lights into the positive and negative of the tail lights or trailer harness reverse signal.

I added some cheap Amazon lights, bolted them using bolts already on the underside of the bumper, on either side of the license plate. For this, you would have to run wire the length of the truck, but it's not THAT much, plus I can turn them on/off as needed. I wanted to be able to do this because they are primarily "Camp lights" as opposed to "backup lights". I don't have a step-by-step of this, but you can get an idea of what I'm talking about from my build thread. Good luck!

This way my idea, and although it's not that big of a deal to run the frame, I figured I'd start a post to ask if there was wiring I can tap from the ac inverter.

Does anyone know if the inverter is actually in the back and powered by 12v back there? Or is it more complicated than that? I haven't had time to disassemble and check voltages.
