I have a 2021 Tacoma SR5 and want to add the rear bed lights (Led Bed Lighting Kit PT857-35200). I do not have the 3rd brake light with the bed lights or the Deck lamp switch in my truck. I read that the 2021 SR5 comes with the relay already pre-installed, if that's the case I don't need that but I will need to install a Deck Lamp Switch. My question is can I use a different switch (I see CH4x4 offers one) and use the factory plug to make it plug and play or do I need to buy the OEM Deck Lamp Switch 84267-0C020?

    Thanks

The under rail bed lighting available from @mattgecko is a great alternative.

    Personally I think it's better.

Are you sure the CH4X4 uses the factory connector and associated wiring?

My thoughts are why purchase OEM Toyota bed lamps if you are then going to aftermarket on the other parts? Why not go all aftermarket then including the lamps?

If your dilemma is the cost of the OEM switch, go to a junk yard and get the OEM switch there.

I like the look of the aftermarket switches better. I was asking to see if anyone knew if they would fit the factory plug. I will probably just end up going with the Toyota switch

Leveled with Bilstein 5100 shocks, Kumho AT52 265/75 tires, Redline hood struts, R4T tailgate lock, Matt Gecko LED strips in bed and under hood, WeatherTech hood guard, OEM bed mat, Husky floor mats, Carhart seat covers, Grille replacement with Toyota letters, Sony AX6000 replacement head unit, OTT lite/mild tune, and an occasional splash of fuel additive.
I installed under-rail gecko LEDs. Nice having switch in rear. Plenty of light under cover. Ran hot wire to battery. Not sure about the factory kits.

I have the MattGecko kit also. I opted for the bed mounted switch because most of the time that I use the lights, it’s for post-bike ride things. That way I can just ride up to the truck, flick the lights on, drop the tailgate, pop off my hip pack, and use the light to find my key. To me that was easier than getting off, finding my key in the dark, unlocking, opening the front door, switching the lights on, then walking back to the back of the truck. Also helpful for camping trips. It’s just more convenient to have the switch where the light is needed IMO

mattgeckoleds does look like a good option, it illuminates the entire bed which is nice. Thanks for the suggestion
