Does anybody know if it is possible to add a similar filter like the expansion valve orifice tube, on the other pipe immediately adjacent (circled in blue), that comes from the evaporator? Or even if this is possible in other parts of the ac system? Would there be an issue with pressure?

I'm aware of in line filters where you need to cut and splice, but it seems like easy and cheap insurance to add a similar orifice tube when rebuilding the system, provided I can find one that fits and sits flush with the pipe, in the same way as the oem part. Thanks in advance!

    My shit is all stock.
Any debris in the system is going to originate at the compressor or the condenser. So, the existing high side filter is all that is needed.

    Thanks for the reply.

I've read on other posts that sometimes an exploding compressor can shoot pieces of metal back up the suction line. If that is true, an additional filter screen definitely seems worth it!
