All zerks are the same size. You're not trying to grease a brake bleeder screw, are you?

Never had an issue with expensive or cheap grease guns. I thought they were all the same really. I would just try harder.

    Some couplers can be “adjusted”.
Try adjusting the coupler (the piece the grease come out of)
On some of them you can screw it out or in. Most of the time they come screwed down all the way tight when new. And this can make it hard to snap on the zerk.

Typically I have the issue of them wanting to stay stuck to the zerk.

I’ve also found they go on and off better going Straight on.
Even the slightest angle/misalignment can cause the coupler to be hard to get on or off.

    ^This.

Some zerks are 90 degrees so you need to account for that.

@TnShooter , if you have the screw to adjust, you can get it on your zerk then screw it tight. Nothing will get it off until you unscrew it. It’s how they’re designed.

Another option is a Lock N Lube adapter.

Got my grease gun from harborfreight. It works. Dont be afraid to put some effort into attaching the fitting to the zerk. The first time I did mine I was surprised how much force I needed to use.
