Is there a simple way to add keyless entry to a 2009 Tacoma Prerunner? I do have electric locks. I did the cruise control upgrade myself and it was very easy, so I was curious if I could add keyless entry as easily. I searched for a thread, but couldn't find one with the right info.

Give it a few more hours and someone will see it.
I've been online off and on for about 5 hours and this is the first I've seen this thread.

If you have power locks, the keyless entry should not be complicated.
Aftermarket is always an option, but I'm sure there's a factory way to go.

    Cruise control is cake.
If you have an automatic, 15 minutes and $150 worth of parts and you're done.
Stalk, cover, connecting wire, and 2 screws.
If you have a manual, the clutch switch is needed and it's a bit more involved... but it's still less than an hour.

Yeah, I did the cruise control and I have a clutch. Pretty easy mod. I only made the last comment to get my thread back towards the top.

It isn't to hard with a remote start or alarm kit since you already have power locks. I recommend viper alarms. There are tons of install tutorials over on vipers forum.

I'm thinking about going that route. Was just kind of hoping there was an OEM way to simply plug-n-play like the cruise control.

I don't believe there is an OEM way. The vipers have a much longer range though. If you find an OEM way please let me know.

Well, it's been three days and still no answers from anyone about OEM. How do they do it at the factory? Hard to believe it isn't possible. Oh well, I'm gonna try out this Bulldog system. Much cheaper than Viper(maybe for a reason, but I'm willing to waste $30 and a little time). All the reviews were very positive. Only issue anyone mentioned was getting the trunk to open. Luckily, I don't have a trunk!
