Op, did you get the unit? I got the Rosen. My first initial thought when I pulled it out of the box was WOW looks kinda cheap especially the knobs. I Paid $1217 for it and expected more from it. I'm installing it tomorrow morning and hope I like the interface and everything else.

I got a chance to check out the ottonavi one from the video above while at SEMA and it seemed like a sturdy unit and the guys there were much more helpful than the people at the Rosen booth. Its what I'll be getting with this years tax return for sure.

I got one of these for xmas and installed it today. It is a beautiful unit and looks OEM. The fit isnt 100% but close enough. Fairly easy install. It took more time for me to figure out how to remove the clock module than install the radio. It probably took 3 hours to complete this. The unit is completely plug and play. Most of the install time took routing the IPOD, GPS and USB cables to the glove box and getting the unit back in place. I am extremely happy with the unit. I played the radio and used the gps thus far. Works flawlessly. Best upgrade for my 2008 Tacoma Sport I have done. I recommend to others. I would rate the radio sound quality to that of the stock unit.

    Cheers

I have taken a few pictures of the Ottonavi GPS/Radio unit installed in my truck. Like I mentioned previously, the fit isnt 100 percent due to the cables in the back of the unit. I will disassemble again when I get time to see if I can get a tighter fit. This installation was so simple, a caveman could do it. The cables that come with it aren't marked, but you will know where to put them. My steering wheel radio controls work with this unit. I forgot to mention that I dont have a JBL sound system. That requires additional equipment. For more information, follow this link

You say the fit isn't 100% (as of now) but the photos don't show anything obvious to me. Can you show the areas of fit you are referring to? (just bigger gaps? Radio not sitting flush in certain areas?) Are you pretty confident that rerouting or adjusting the cables will make it fit better?
Also, does your '08 have a backup camera and if so, does it work through the display or still just mirror?

You said you got it for xmas, but do you know where it came from: ebay, ottonavi website, alfa otto site or another site?

Looks very nice, and I'm checking it out for my '11 model.
    Thanks for the info!

When I said the fit wasnt 100% was because it was getting dark when I finished the installation. Today, I removed the climate control unit loosened the four bolts holding the radio unit and re-aligned the radio. It is now sitting properly. It was a bit raised in the upper left corner (you can see this in the IMG240 photo). It is now sitting properly. My wife bought the unit off Ebay on sale for $639 and $50 shipping to Canada. Gov't charged another $80 for taxes going through the border. I dont have a backup camera installed on my truck, but I am looking into it. It comes with a RCA cable that plugs directly into the back of the unit for the camera. I havent installed in yet. Here is the link to where I bought it off Ebay. If you scroll down the pictures in the link the very last one is the connecter/cables for the camera. On a side note, I was wondering where I was going to install the GPS antenna. I place it in the glovebox until I figured where I would mount it. The GPS finds it and it works flawlessly.
