I currently have an 01 with 5100s all around as well as a 1.5" AAL in the rear from wheelersoffroad. I was wondering if adding some new coilovers to the front would add a little more lift as well as a slightly more comfortable ride (mainly for the extra lift). The only reason I would want a little extra lift is because my truck still has a slight bit of rake and I also think it would look a little better if the front tires had a little more space. (My brother had a rough country set up on his truck that was a little higher in the front than mine and I like the look a lot. But of course it drove rougher) So, what would be the parts that would work for me? Id like to see the cost relatively low. IMG_0007.jpg

Also, would I need to add a different drop if I lifted up another .5" or so

Toytec has a coilover kit for the 5100's. I have it, and it rides SMOOTH! One thing though, aftermarket upper control arms, and a diff drop are almost mandatory, once the Taco is raised 2.5 inches up front.

Diff was dropped less than 1/2 inch. UCA's were SPC, bought on Amazon. About $500

Diff drops are cheap, like $20 or $30. It's just a steel spacer with longer bolts. Definately mandatory on the 1st gens with 2.5" or more lift. I have a diff drop with only about 1-1.5" lift, but I have mid travel Kings, too.

5100s are great, had them for like 6 years, but the thing is when you lift with them, you are increasing preload, making the ride stiffer. You could get some OME coils that are 2-3" lift, and leave the 5100 clip at the "stock height" setting. Since you're not over-preloading them, the ride should be smoother.

Talking to a human from wheelers, downsouthmotorsports, or any of the other vendors on this site, and they'll lp you choose the right springs that should get you what you need.
