Adding wire to fuse panel for dual usb

Man i am wearing this site out, this has been the best place for information and thanks
to all you people for the help. NOW got the interior fuse cover off and i see one
empty fuse slot but where do i connect a hot wire to that fuse, do i need to pull something
off to get to a place to terminate the hot wire on that particular fuse. Im pretty sure some
of you folks have went through this before. Any help would be appreciated.

Alot of people use the p1/outlet. I used that for my auxbeam 8 gang switch. You will need add a fuse.

 

And where might the P1/outlet be located

 

I was hoping to use a fuse in side the truck instead of going through the firewall

 

Yes it is inside the truck, its on the left side of the driver side near the kick panel. You can't miss it.

 

Picture of said fuse would be very helpful...

 

Wire them together they draw tiny current.

 

I see the fuse panel and one empty slot where a fuse could go. But where would the positive wire connect to the fuse. Does fuse panel need to un bolted and pulled down to see where a wire could be connected?

 

you buy a add a fuse and that connects to the power wire and then the add a fuse goes into the fuse slot along with the current fuse thats in there.

 

My dual usb came with a fuse, I guess what I’m asking do you just jam in in beside one leg of the fuse, I took a pic but haven’t figured out how to up load it yet.

 

Do I need to get my hot from this block and jam wire in with one of fuse legs

This is the Q-com dual USB 3.0 and it comes with looks to be an inline fuse. I just need to figure out where to get 12 volts on the red wire and I will just ground the black wire, I guess I would like to know the best source to get the 12 volts.

Do not jam a wire in the fuse box. Use one of these (available on Amazon and at many parts stores).

You should be able to pick them up at local automotive stores.

 

It's called a fuse tap and you have to get the one that matches what fuse you have in the truck.

I have got the fuse tap in, and is working great
One question can’t get my fuse cover back on because the fuse tap is up too high, is there alternative fuse cover that might work to cover the fuses.
