Adhesive to bond neoprene to metal (painted) that sees varying temps?

The object is outside but not exposed to the elements. So the bond doesn't necessarily have to be weatherproof. But should be able to withstand summer highs and winter lows.

What's a widely available adhesive for this application?

edit: Basically, I ripped out the headliner in my truck (due to mold), and want to cover the exposed area with neoprene.

 

Protected from sunlight?

Maybe a waterproof epoxy. I have used it outside with success but never with neoprene.

Next might be RapidFuse.

Condensation.

Look for wetsuit glue.

Look for pliobond.

Some folks have use RTV adhesives.

I would think the paint might need just a quick scuff with 400 grit to give it some teeth, nothing radical, it should bond OK if really clean.

ANY adhesive I would check with the manufacturer for neoprene compatibility, and with whatever wetsuit glue make sure it bonds to auto paint.

Maybe I am overthinking this but why not made for cars peel and stick deadener?

 

"Wetsuit glue" is rubber cement. Best way to glue rubber to metal or plastic is cyanoacrylate, commonly known as "super glue".
Neoprene breaks down in UV light, may not last long.

Yes, Rapidfuse is a cyanoacrylate.

 

Maybe consider a neoprene that already has an adhesive backing? I stuck this to the aluminum side of Noico sound deadening material on my truck’s rear cab panel. They claim it’s good for -40 to 200 degrees.

Liquid Contact Cement provides lasting bonding to all smooth, dry surfaces.

 

3M super weatherstrip adhesive would be my choice for something like that and many other things as well.

Go to a roofing supply center. Not big box center(Lowes, HDepot), but one that sells roofing products to contractors. 3M makes caulking tube type adhesives that are unbelievable.

My brother-in-law works for Firestone. They make the rubber that is used for roofing on large commercial buildings. He gets me tubes of 3M adhesives and they are crazy good. Waterproof, bond rubber to metal, other rubber, wood, etc. Just tell them what you want to bond and they will likely have a solution.
