    Not that any one cares about this thread anymore...but 4th of July weekend. My Truck is going to lose a foot or so of rear overhang. :eek::sawzall::violent:

    You can glue fiberglass back together with rubber cement, right? Or is it paper mache? I can never remember.

    So after looking at the bedsides, this is going to be a bit tougher than I thought. I'm going to have to section the bedsides into a few pieces then glue it all back together. After reading this in Mike's build, I'm going to have to find some adhesive. Which I'm pasting here so I don't lose it.

    After reading this post I googled SMC and welding resin. Found this:

    I might order it and see how it does I've got a some pieces of bed that I've already cut off I can try.

    I think you're gonna have some blending issues with the top regardless. You could probably do what zscott did and make a plate that sits "on top" of the bedsides and connects to the tiedown rails, which would cover some of the gap.

    You could try to cut the top flush and then blend it to the side cuts. Or get custom bedsides made. :spending:

    Alright dudes...talk me out of this.

    Long travel isn’t even close to what I thought it was. I don’t have 10’s of thousands to waste making it like I want. I’ve been debating this for a long time now.

    Part out the truck. Put it back on 285’s and a ~2” lift, stock bedsides/fenders, get a go fast/hondo type camper and call it good.

    I’m also getting sick of the bad gas mileage and tires rubbing.
