A wheeling buddy of mine had a 5G runner on 33’s and the usual overland crap and driving it around it didnt blow my mind. Honestly, it felt pretty gutless with the heavy tires, but he hadn’t regeared or anything. Still a cool truck.

People who really care about reliability know it’s gotta be Buick. That’s my next move.

I get the cool factor but the 4Runner is just hopelessly outdated. Its bomb proof but I would have waited to see what the 2024 looks like.

Don't be bashing the Sienna and it's powerhouse of a motor. The Fam rented one when we went to the grand canyon north rim and I had 7 peeps in that shitbox firewalled for long periods of time since there was no traffic and everyone else in the vehicle fell asleep. That thing can move.

Beautiful country out there at 90+ MPH. Minivans rule.

I stand by my assertion that no motor works harder than a “minivan duty” motor. Way more stress than any truck puts on it.

I’ve seen 7 people in a minivan with a rooftop pod and towing a trailer. Any motor that can survive in a minivan is good for frontline duty in my mind.

Not going to lie, I've been considering trading my Tacoma in for a T4R OR Premium or PRO and getting a small utility trailer to haul things. The big inhibitor has been such poor inventory and the insane market adjustment.

I've been daily driving a Toyota pickup truck for 35+ years and my 3 months with a 4runner loaner made me see what I was missing.

Good luck OP, I might see you on 4runners.com myself

Maybe hold off on the next gen tacoma? I'm sure they would give you a nice trade in.
