That's because the stock reflectors are not designed for the HID burners.

They are dangerous, illegal, and should not be used on the street.

"So whatever" until you blind someone and cause them to crash and seriously injure or kill someone.

swap vehicles with a friend and drive towards each other, then you'll see it doesn't "look cool" for everyone else.

    Worse.

When you're texting, you can still move your eyes back to the road every second or so.
When someone is driving toward you, they can't see shit for about 5 seconds after you pass.

There's a reason people flash you and it's not to warn you about a cop.

They're putting their own lives in danger too! I don't know about you, but when I'm blinded by those cool blue tuner lights I'm like a moth to a flame - I drift right toward them. If I'm going out they're coming w/ me!

Good Thread!! I will adjust mine tonight. Never thought about it. I do not want to make driving any more dangerous for people than it already is. Good thinking OP! Rep to you.:)

    back to bone stock.
why are we plugging and unplugging things? i just used my garage door and some blue tape. simple phillips screwdriver..i have a long one, so it was super easy. took me about 5 minutes.

this benefits you just as much as the others that have to live with you on the same roads. do it.

I'd get them adjusted. Find a lamp adjusting station and get it done. I used to write fix-it tickets for out of adjusted lamps all the time as I hated being "high beamed" and then finding out that the driver had modified his vehicle's height and/or suspension without adjusting the lights. Not only is it dangerous for other drivers, you might be held liable in a collision.

It shouldn't cost that much (I paid about $30 here in San Diego for my cobra.)

Unplugging (or hanging a hat over) one light makes it easier to see the cutoff, especially on the shit Spyders I put in my wife's Rav4... the high side of the driver cutoff completely obscured the passenger low side.

HID projectors are pretty well defined and I don't think it's a problem.

Finally adjusted my headlights. For some reason I don't get light checked anymore! I think I may have went a little too far with the adjustment. It seems like my light are about 20 ft in front of me but it not that bad, better than blinding people. They must have been bad, I had so many people flash there lights at me I felt bad.

SO IF YOU HAVE PUT A LIFT OR EVEN BIGGER TIRES ON YOUR TRUCK AND HAVEN'T ADJUSTED YOUR LIGHTS, PLEASE DO SO BECAUSE IT IS BAD FOR OTHER PEOPLE. IT REALLY ONLY TAKES LIKE 2 MIN. AND A CROSS TIP SCREWDRIVER. (Turn the gear)

I like to run them a bit low (just a bit, not too much) so I'm not blinding people if I put a load in the bed.
Even more important now with the HID projectors.

Adjusted low, they are still bright enough and visible to oncoming traffic, but I generally see the upper cutoff just below the edge of the trunk lid of the car in front of me, so I know I'm not killing him.
Streetlights give me longer coverage, and if there's no traffic, the high beams are blowtorches.
