Anybody know if there is any way to adjust the easy lower tailgate assist thing? I installed one of the Mobtown tailgate skins, and the added weight alters the performance of the assist, so it doesn't work very well.

If not, not a huge deal...

Unfortunately, I am almost 100% sure that there is no way to increase the resistance in the easy lower piece. It is just like a serpentine belt tensioner as shown below. If you take off the bumper, it is on the passenger side. They force is created by the resistance of the internal spring to the assembly. You "might" be able to find a spring to replace the one that is in it but you'd have to take the assembly apart, figure out the current springs force and find one of equal diameter and height with a stronger force, usually created from more coils in said spring.

We were worried the tailgate reinforcement plate would create concern with some people, it still opens softly, just not as soft as stock. Worse case, it'll open like a standard tailgate if you get the cap too which is just about done in R&D and will be in production soon.

I'd like to mod mine so that it goes back up on its own too.
