There are a lot of old threads here about wipers not having enough pressure on the windshield and they usually end with a dick measuring contest about which wipers are best. Once in a while, it's recommended that the whole arm just be replaced. On my driver side only, even brand new wipers leave a lot of water on the windshield while the passenger work great. I'm wondering if anyone has tried increasing spring tension by adjusting the clip holding the spring in the arm?

Never had that issue with mine, so never tried. I have seen videos specific to Tacomas where they use two adj wrenches to torque the far end of the arm (after the hinge). This allows the rubber insert to sit more parallel to the glass. That was in response to wiper 'chatter' issues but I wonder if it might help you here?
