    Hi all!
I just picked up this bad boy yesterday. I noticed the fuel door was not flush with the body. I figured someone probably walked into it when it was open or tried closing on an open gascap. I thought, no biggie I can easy adjust that myself.
Took a peak today and noticed the mounts looks riveted on. Has anyone successfully adjusted a bent fuel door mount or can post a pic of the hardware so I can see what part of mine is bent? Thanks for any tips!

They get that way because few folks think to lubricate the hinge...

Hinge is bent. You just have gently push and pull on it. I have adjusted a few on different vehicles that are riveted on. It is pretty easy and forgiven.

Body shop tech here.....some vehicles have very robust gas door components and some have very flimsy (just replaced a rear quarter on an 18' Civic, you could literally tear the gas door of the quarter with little effort).
My point is just be careful trying to "bend or tweak" the hinge. It can be done as mentioned before but if you're not careful you can do more damage, such as distorting the quarter panel if the door bracket is very stiff. Sometimes it's worth drilling out rivets to make a proper repair.

Picked it up including a warranty? Or just randomly?

Got a friend in the body business?

It should be fairly obvious when the door is open as to what is bent. Either the bracket itself or the thin wire that acts as the hinge pin will be bent. If it’s just the wire then you can massage it back relatively gently by pushing the door into alignment.

And then keep the door lubed from here on out. I’ve had 2 Toyotas that the PO’s didn’t bother and both had screwed up fuel doors like this that scraped the body work. 1 door had a broken wire so I just bought a new fuel door and paint matched it.

Worst case, your wire is broken.

if you just bought it, that looks pretty henky, ask them to fix it before you attempt DIY.

The fuel door on my '21 TRD looks much different:

My gut guess is that the 'curled' part of the hinge (arrow) has 'uncurled' due to lack of lubrication over time.

Actually, comparing to yours, I'd say the bottom on OP's needs to be "uncurled" some.

It also looks like the braket/hinge base, that is riveted to bedside is pulled away. Look at both pics, OP's has a wider gap.

It almost looks like it was bent to all hell and halfassed bent back to somewhat shut. I’m the end, it doesn’t matter, it needs fixed, most likely professionally.
I’d still give the dealer a shot at making it right.

As said before. Pretty easy fix, just be patient and take your time. Remember little by little. Take a hammer, grab hammer head like a T- handle, place hammer handle on hinge base. Push lightly in, check and continue as needed. You can use protected pry tools to move forward if need be. You will be surprised how easy if move. Lube hinges well. If you don't feel comfy doing it, take it in to autobody shop.
