I did the ADM over the weekend. I decided to do the hack mod because I’m cheap, so I used my Dremmel to grind out a channel in the accumulator.

I force bled the system with a Motiv bleeder and the pedal felt different. The clutch was engaging almost instantly after releasing the pedal. To be honest, it was awesome. Faster/smoother shifts all around. But I don’t think I removed all the air.

So I went back under and did the hose method so I could pump the pedal until no air bubbles were detected. I then drove to a friends house and the pedal again felt different - it was snapping back up to my foot halfway through the release, but after clutch engagement. Great shifting was had. Got to his house and noticed my fluid line was a bit below LOW. So I filled it up when I got home.

Driving to work today, the pedal has now gone back to feeling like it did before the mod and shifting, while a tad better, doesn’t feel as good.

Do y’all think I had air trapped in the system and it wasn’t pushing the clutch all the way down thus giving me a false sense of having improved shifting? Would actually deleting the accumulator give me better results than just hacking? How can I reduce the amount of pedal travel before the clutch bites? I hate shifting in this truck…
