    Anyone know a write-up about someone making their own heat shield? Or should I just switch it out with an TRD CAI or aFe CAI?
    The truck came with the K&N.

    I have the same intake on my truck. I bet if you took it to a fabricator he could build one for pretty cheap.

    How much did you pay? I called K&N and they wanted almost $200 just for the heat shield and the parts that connect to it like the trim on top. If it is expensive, I might as well just try and make my own.

    Installed the stock cold air intake w/ drop in K&N air filter and going to see if there is a change in gas mileage with the K&N air intake.

    I switched to the stock and lost a lot of power and no more roar when getting onto the freeway. I already miss the big K&N. Just waiting for it to dry and switch back.
