Hi Guys, im in the same pickle as the OP and want to see if any one has any other input? Talking with Headstrong they suggested going with the 8112s.

Have you had a chance to run any trails with the new setup?

My friend just installed a set ADS shocks and I have to say the quality is definitely there. Haven't taken them to the desert but appearance wise they seem to rival king fox etc .I am personally running kings with 700lb coils and the adjusters and have had no issue other than preload adjustments being a real pita.

Yes, ran some on Saturday at different speeds and adjustments. Went through some pretty big potholes too. I think I need aftermarket bumpstops lol

Really? Marie mentioned both, but was saying how nice the components were on the ADS

Lol yeah. Well this is from Matt but maybe they prefer different brands?

“Well both are great options as far as high end suspension systems go. The Bilstein is a step above though as both the front and rear are bypass shocks (front being internal and rear being adjustable external bypass).”

Maybe the difference is splitting pees

I guess. I don’t fully understand the whole “internal bypass” principle yet

Why not have both? Lol. I run 8112 in the front and ADS 2.5 with remote resi in the rear. The ride is amazing.

Cool, Also interesting, that sounds like something I would do. Why did You?
As far as the back goes it will be empty except for golf clubs, most of the time. But there is going to be trips to the dump, (very very close to city dump) ((plz dont judge)) lol with landscaping paraphernalia. I was thinking of going with the stock leafs I have now and use air bags for when I need a little help. With that said I have a relationship with a deaver leaf installer in my area who dialed in my work truck big time. So I feel I can go to him and he can help me if I have rear-end issues after I get the new shocks in.

As far as the rear goes, would that tiny red knob on the ADS dial the shock to handle the extra load? Do you think 600 pd spring is enough for a stock OR with just sliders?

The knob is compression adjustment. I dial it higher when I carry a heavy load or when I'm speeding on the fire roads. 600lb springs are fine for a sick taco with sliders. I'm on 700lb springs with skids , bumper, winch and sliders

If only. Been debating selling my fronts, but every time I bomb trails or dial them in for the highway I am OK with it lol. Not my DD anymore

How much lift (also what clip) do you have the fronts at?
