Ive heard Deavers are more "flexy" too, but also heavier due to more leafs present

If your shocks are valved as soft as the 1st gen non adjuster's coilovers I did over the summer I bet it's way to soft and your just blowing through the travel and hitting bump stops. It makes it feel like it's too much compression valving but really it's the opposite. Rears I bet your over sprung causing the harsh ride. Toss some sand bags in the bed.

Anyone have a photo of ADS 2.5" remote resi coilovers in the front of a first-gen Tacoma, with MCMs brackets for the resis?

Looking for the best way/location to install...

I have an ADS problem, guys. My therapist says I need help. Edit: I find it a slight bit hilarious that the resis on these bypasses are larger than the entire shock body on the coilovers. *maniacal laugh persists*

I don’t think I’ve bottomed out but one time and that was a pretty serious drop. Even on full soft with my bumper you literally have to land from being airborne to bottom out.

What spring rate are the stock 3rd gen springs? If you're running 700lb coils, I know stock coil rate on 2nd gens is around 580-600, so that's 200 pounds worth of extra spring (100lbs per coil) over stock. You said your bumper setup weighs 135lbs, so not counting any extra preload you have, you're already running 65lbs capacity over stock and that's going to change the ride quality regardless of what your shocks are valved for. Also, the clickers just change the rate of compression in your reservoirs, it doesn't change the valving of your piston or shim stack. But don't ask me about shim stacks, I haven't gone down that valving rabbit hole yet.

Started doing my install tonite. When swapping out the UCA's what is everyone doing on the passenger side UCA through bolt? Cutting that bitch or what? Then install new one from other end is looking pretty good. Already have new through bolts strictly by chance.

    Pics to come.

Going to have to look in the am when there is ample light. I cant imagine how the 3rd gen could be worse. From my initial look on mine, the fender/ lip is dead in line with the through bolt= crazy amount of bending tweaking fender. I'm hoping it was just the darkness throwing me off. Yeah it's a 2011. Thanks for the quick input.

That's a big 10 4. One of first things I thought about. Which is why I really didnt want to install the bolt from the other side for that reason.
My first gen Tundra UCA's were cake compared to the Tacoma. I always use red locktite on the threads as well.

Guess the fender is going to get a wrenching on..

The passenger side was a giant pain in the ass for me on my third gen. I don't know why it was much different than the driver, but I had to wrench on the fender well pretty hard. I eventually just used a dremel to cut a chunk out. It was covered up with the plastic splash guard afterwards. Good luck, that was by far the most frustrating part for me.

The front end on the 3rd gen weighs 300lbs more than the 2nd gen bone stock. The stock off-road springs are around 700lbs

Thanks Brett. Definitely not what I got by ordering from ADS directly so I'll have to see if I can make these work; else I'll buy some from him directly. Don't see his on the web site though, wonder how much they'll run.

Mine came straight from ADS and came with a super basic mount. His mounts won't work with the resi hose setup as supplied from ADS too.

I've been rocking this setup for several years now:

A little concerned at first if the movement between the frame and body would present an issue, but it's been fine.

Post #99 of my build has a pic of how much I bent the sheet metal on my ‘13 to run the bolt the right way.

Gotcha, thanks. I like the way you did that. So in the pic looks like you bent that section to the outside toward the wheel well opening/ away from the engine compartment. You just leave that wire harness hanging? Think I will have to attach it somewhere, I'm to ocd to let it hang.

I either popped the clip back in or ran a zip tie around that wire - can’t remember which off the top of my head.

Yes just used some big ass vise-grips and bent to the outside.

I also used a long pry bar to gently nudge the sheet metal supporting the washer fluid reservoir a tiny bit while feeding the bolt in.
