I am just going off of what I saw when I mounted them on my leaf spring on a lift.

Would there be any harm in taking a grinder to the corner of the lip that is in danger of touching the shock? Definitley a PIA but might be easier than dealing with a return when the guy is already swamped. I am kind of in the same boat so wondering what the best course of action is.

I personally wouldn’t take a grinder to it but that’s me. Maybe just cutting off the lip closest to the shock body would give it enough clearance. I didn’t want to cut up the expensive plates to find out it doesn’t work and then end up not being able to routine them.

Anyone else feel their coilovers don’t hit the same? My passenger side feels softer than the drivers. Maybe it’s the way it hits certain bumps, or it’s in my head.

After over 1k miles on the CO, they’ve seemed to soften/break in some. To me they’re still not extremely smooth when hitting pot holes or washboard roads. It can still be rather rough. I’m running E rated tires, I’ve even lowered the psi down to 20. It’s helped somewhat, perhaps what I’m feeling is more in the tires than the COs. Or possibly it’s because I don’t have enough weight on the front end?

I thought this at first, but it’s taken 2000 miles for mine to break in. Your e-rated tires aren’t helping any. What # spring did you get? You can always have the valving changed when you rebuild them

    Whole lotta stuff
Mine feel rough, but I’m definitely oversprung. I think my 14x700 lb springs are shot. Rode great at stock height but rubbed like a mofo. Now, I have over 2 inches of preload for the lift I have, which I think is about 3 inches. So I’m gonna ring up Eibach in corona and have them make me 15x700 lb spring so I can get rid of some preload. Stance is great though, I still have half an inch rake on Dakars.

That’s the spring I run on mine. Very smooth and cloud-like. However the 3rd gen front end is 300lbs heavier stock than the second gen.

600 lbs as recommended by Headstrong since I’m a first gen with no real armor. Skids were next on the list, but they’ve been put on the back burner right now.

Just upgraded to DuroBumps. I haven’t felt much of a difference as of yet. I’ll add that on the driver side I left it at the preload they came with. I had to turn the passenger side about 3 1/4- 3 1/2 turns to make level it out.

That’s what I’ve done. I matched the passenger side to the driver. The preload it came with had the driver side sitting higher than the passenger. Preload on the drivers side has not changed, but yet still feels stiffer than the passenger. Like I said, maybe it’s just in my head....

I don’t think the preload in either side is too much. The overall night is still lower than my previous OME setup with the top spacer.

Just bought a gx470. Leaning towards getting ADS front and rear. Who has the best deal right now? They will be going on this baby.

Correct. Before I installed them it was clear that the driver side had more preload, i assume for the exact the reasons that you stated. That’s why I gave them a while on the truck to settle to see if they would both settle out to the same height. After a few thousand miles, they did not settle out even, so I raised the passenger to match the driver so that the truck was level. However, preload isn’t what I’m really questioning. The passenger side seems to have a softer feeling than the drivers.

Finally got my rears. Anybody have a reason why I shouldn’t put these rubber boots over the shaft (they will be secured with zip-ties).

Wanted to add some protection. Also, for you guys that have installed these, is there anything I need to be careful of? It looks like the resis attach to the frame opposite of each other (driver side resi towards front, passenger resi towards back?)

For installing the extended travel rears is there anything I should be aware/careful of before I do them?

What’s an easy way to compress the shock of needed?

    Thanks in advance

Make sure to overtighten the top nut to prevent the shock body from rotating during use.
