Even just water, if it had a hard time getting in it will have a hard time getting out. I've pulled shock boots off before and been horrified by the corrosion, even living in Texas where things barely corrode.

Noted. I’m going to call ADS and see what they think. A few others I’ve talked to have said that their shafts were beat to hell.

Update: the fact that I park my truck inside every night in a temp controlled garage made sense it would make it easier for the shocks to dry out easier. I took the boots off

My level 2 kit gets dropped off this week and planning on a weekend install. Will post pics when everything arrives! Super excited. Bought my taco about 6mo ago and have been hating the ride quality due to the previous owner putting blocks on the stock suspension. Can't wait to feel the night and day difference. :muscleflexing:

    Lots of expensive shit
Ironically I have 2 brothers that both have the same suspension, 1 got his first, the other about 6 months later. The 2nd brother had boots on his rear shocks, and both of his rear shocks started leaking while the 1st brothers without boots still have had no issues. I could not find any damage to the shaft to warrant any seal damage, and both shocks were leaking at the same time which was really weird.

Outside of that, I have only had 2 customers with issues in 8 yrs with damage to the shaft causing leaks. 1 was a customer in Canada who had something hit the shaft and take a chunk out of it, some serious damage. The other was a tundra who spent 12 days straight down in baja and the washes just destroyed the shaft from all the small rocks blasting it.

So I can see some situations where the boots may help, but I can also see where they may do more harm than good, especially in a daily driver situation where the shocks wont be maintained as often and stuff can get inside the boot and stay in there.

Yes, thank you. I took mine off since I’m garaging the truck every day and clean them. Just made it easier to clean

What's the extra set of bushings for? I know the two bigger ones fit in the leaf springs but not sure about the small set.

Also, is it okay that this isn't flush? It's flush on one side but I can't get it flush with the other side

Are those aftermarket greaseable bushings? Where’d you get those?

Sorry for the 1000 questions, this is my first time doing any sort of work to my vehicle past just basic maintenance. I just want to make sure I do it right the first time.

    -R = driver's side, right?

-How much preload should I start with? I was gonna just leave it the way that it came from the factory but they are both pre set to very different amounts.

-Do they normally come with a tool to adjust the preload? I thought I read somewhere that they did.

Edit: Lastly, no preload at all = stock height?

    Thanks again!
