On a 3rd gen 4Runner or your 3rd gen Tacoma? You understand that they have different setups, right?

I can't tell exactly from your pic, but looks like those may be 1st gen taco tophats, and not 3rd gen runner. They're clocked slightly different, otherwise identical.

Can you take a pic straight on from the side?

I can get a better picture than this if you need it. I ended up pulling them back off until I can figure out what I need to make them work.

Yeah, those are 1st gen taco tophats. You need new tophats for your 3rd gen T4r. It will rotate it so the resi fitting is straight out.

Ya much cheaper than having to buy all new UCAs.

Planning on moving to ADS. Cant decide on a leaf pack for the rear. There's a set of used Med Dakar's semi local. Or just go with RXTs or Deavers? I would like to buy once/cry once.
Weight in the back ranges from 0# to 400# packed for long camping trips. (2 roto coolers, tents, etc) Plus 3 kids, 2 adults in the cab. Normal nominal weight is a BedRug and Softopper ~20lbs if that.

For reference, at 5k I swapped the stock suspension to 6112/5160 with HS 3AAL in rear. This setup has worked great over the years. However, as armor was added; C4 Hybrid w/winch, 4xInnovations sliders, full reinforced Mobtown skid plates. The truck got heavy and the 6112 stock springs even on 6/6 couldnt keep up. I put on a set of Wheelers/Eibach #700 springs. Adjusted to 5/4 clips and the ride is good, controled and is so not preloaded it actually has some flex. But, I feel that rear can be very bouncy off road. Unless I have quite a bit of weight back there. Which then I just slam off the bump stops.

Those with ADS in the rear, what has been your experience for leaf packs? I am straying away from ARB because of the reported issues going flat and interference with the shackles. Unless its a "too good to pass up deal".

Don’t do the Dakars. I’m not fond of mine. They just don’t flex much anymore and if I had to choose a similar leaf pack for the price of the Dakars I would do the Dobinsons because the quality and leaf clips are better and tighter.

I asked basically your same question to the guy who makes the Hammer Hangers and he said that’s a Deaver is What he prefers and will pair well with the ADS. They use a better progressive leaf setup and quality is superior also according to some of the other guys that commented. I’ve heard good and bad about Icon RXT leafs...I’ve nothing but good about Deaver. Supposedly Alcans don’t fit the stock shackles so well...

I was reading about that in the Archive thread. Overall Deaver may be the way to go from taking in all sources of info.

its probably going to be some version of the U402 springs. I do plan a HC rear, already bashed the rear. Gotta remedy it.

    Workin' on it....
I’m running ADS all-around, RXT packs and Archive Hammer Hangers and I have no binding problems like some have reported with the OME packs.

Love my Deavers. From an empty bed to over 800lbs, ride feels smooth and solid. I almost went for the Icon pack, but heard only positive things about Deavers.

Good advice. I also spoke with Deaver and Matt @MCM fab. about weight. They also asked about added weight (gear) and my truck's purpose in life.
