That big of a change definitely effected your alignment. Probably should get that rechecked.

I will Monday. Seems bowed out. Hopefully it will not make any changes to the height. It might settle a bit more after my 800 mile trip to wa

We are on the same page with vehicles that have additional weight up front needing the heavier spring. Conversely though, for stock weight vehicles I think Accutune may actually have it more thought out than you might think. I recently had a discussion with them regarding this very topic. Here's a snippit from them: "The weight difference is roughly 400lb btw 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen, but that's not entirely all up front. We have our own proprietary calculator we have developed over the years that has a lot of data. When we help customers with spring rates or tuning, this calculator helps us determine proper rates and valving needed. We do our absolute best to get the customer the correct rates based on the details they provide us, and we have been very successful doing so." This was in response to me questioning their recommendations within their spring rate article.

You have mentioned in this thread numerous times that even stock 3rd gen Tacomas should run 700# front springs, I want to make sure people understand that this may not be true in many cases.

Makes sense. However when I ran 600# coils I had over 1” of sag occur in 12 months on a 2” lift. That was with a 75lb bumper and 55lb winch.

that is exactly what i do not want. but do not want to regret a 700lb coil and have it ride like shit.

For the first 2000 miles with 700# coils it was a tad stiff, but once they broke in it is very cush. Keep in mind I’m talking about 14” coils (“extended travel length”).
@desertjunkie760 even warned me that I should have gone to 650lb coils with 14”, but I was confident based on the stock coil lb rating (which for some reason stock being 13” skipped my mind). This was not the case with the 14” ...on my next rebuild I will be going 650lb 14”.

don’t forget, it’s almost impossible to get a “shitty” ride with ADS shocks unless you’re valving is all out of whack (especially if you have adjusters). I do have adjusters, and when the shocks were new, I ran the fronts on +2-+4 from full soft for my average ride...now I run +10.
