    I'm in the midst of ordering some ADS rear shocks to go on some archive garage relocates.

    Anyone here have specs that they would like to share? What I am thinking is 2.5x12, remote resi's, with straight fitting from the top, right angle fitting on the resi, with compression adjusters.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

    ADS racing shocks ext travel front, ADS FJC piggyback shocks rear, Addicted Offroad front plate bumper, 4xinnovations rock sliders and rear plate bumper, SCS Stealth 6s
    Does anyone happen to know what the torque spec is for the single bolt that holds the top hat to the top mount of the front coilovers? My driver side mount seems to be loose and has vertical play causing a clunk.

    This post says 47lb-ft. I personally just tighten them until I’m happy with it...

    Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I did the same for that when I had to swap my top hats around because they came backwards. Tightened until it felt right... Lol

    Probably same as the bottom mount or close enough. That's all it is is a spherical bearing and misalignments like the bottom

    If there’s play vertically, the eyelet probably needs be replaced. As stated it’s a spherical bearing, same as the bottom. They wear out after awhile.

    That I don’t know. I’ve only had to service my Shocks once so far and I took them to a local shock service. So as far as the specific part, should be able to ring up ADS and they’ll probably even sell a replacement.

    Yes. But they should last 4-5x as long as the bottoms. I've only replaced the uppers once, and they weren't even that bad.

    Yeah, I suspected this. And I would think that they would last longer. They are not exposed to the elements like the lowers.

    Thanks guys, I had read about the lower spherical bearings going bad but wasn't sure about the uppers. I guess I'll pull the shock this weekend and inspect it. I am kinda surprised that one of them could've already gone bad since I've only had them on my 4runner since May of last year.

    @turbodb has had to replace his a few times I believe. has a good article on replacing them. But I believe its been just the lowers.

    Nice! So basically the bypasses are real expensive bump stops?

    I see BK lowers. I ordered some of the Dirt King performance stock length LCA's. They shipped yesterday.
