This is how mine is currently setup (last 8k). It is definitely over sprung and needs a little weight.

Yeah, I did the 650, that’s what headstrong suggested, I didn’t know there was anything below 650.. what are my options to make it smoother? Or just live with it?

You may like it. These things are very subjective. Give it a try for a while to see how you feel about it.

If you feel the 650s are bit too stiff for you, add a winch up front. The added weight hanging off the front will smooth it out.

For me the 650 isn’t too stiff, it’s like the shocks are constantly fighting the tension which makes it harder to effectively dampen. This is especially noticeable at low speeds.

Think that could be the valving instead?

Likely both. I know these shocks are tuned to be better at increased speeds. They perform really well in those scenarios.

Probably around 2” higher than stock but hard to say for sure. 650 might be a bit stiff for stock. Are you planning on adding weight?

this is how I feel with the 700# ext length. I only have 140lbs with winch and bumper combined. When I can finally get to a rebuild the 650’s will be cherry methinks

hmm maybe I’ll lower them a bit to get a bit softer ride? I contacted Tyler before I purchased and the 600pound would yield no lift even at max preload. So there has to be a sweet spot for the 650’with no weight up front. I just gotta find out how.

im not sure how 600# extended coils would yield no lift at max preload, but he is the pro so there is likely a reason.

the stock 13” coils on the TRD OR are in the 700# range, but 1” additional coil length at 100lbs less compression weight still seems like it would provide some lift

I would agree, it's ery subjuective. I have the 650lb springs and thinks it's perfect.

TBH I have no experience with ADS and 650# coils. My buddy has 650 on Fox 2.5” coilovers and in my opinion they are too stiff. It might all just be in the valving though.

Here is a question I should know before I ordered. What is extended coil? I have them, I have no idea what that option is, I should!! Haha.. is that why some people have a 2” lift at 1”‘preload and others who don’t have the extended have 1” lift at 1” preload?

Extended travel (assuming that is what you mean) allow for more droop travel, which means you also need to order upper control arms for them to work properly.

Valving makes a huge difference. Running the truck then talking to them about how its performing and adjusting tuning via valving makes a huge difference.

Gotcha, is there any lift associated to that? Trying to figure out why some people get 1” or 2”’lift based off of the same preload and weight.

I bought mine through Headstrong Off-road. I got them pretty quickly and they were quick to answer any questions.

Bought mine from headstrong back in January and haven't heard from them since. Hopefully they will ship out soon!
